The Shocking Ending of Grantchester Season 9

Passport Pick: Wolf Hall on MASTERPIECE

The long-awaited adaptation of the final novel in Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall trilogy has just finished filming, and we can’t wait for it to come to KQED in 2025. A historical drama for a modern audience, Wolf Hall charts Thomas Cromwell’s meteoric rise in the Tudor court — from blacksmith’s son to Henry VIII’s closest advisor. Tony Award-winning actor Mark Rylance and Emmy Award-winner Damian Lewis return as Cromwell and King Henry VIII, respectively, and Kate Phillips (Miss Scarlet and the Duke) also reprises her role as King Henry VIII’s third wife, Jane Seymour. If you missed the first series in 2015, or want to rewatch to get caught up before the final installment airs next year, Wolf Hall returns to KQED Passport on Thursday, August 1.
